Virginia was born and raised in Pateley Bridge in the heart of Nidderdale, North Yorkshire. Her family have lived and worked on the land here for generations.

​

In this place, Virginia has a great sense of identity and belonging. She explores her relationship with this land through the use of family photographs, the use of natural materials and the written word. 

 

Her work tells stories about the events and the people 'of the land' and evokes a 'sense of place'.
