During her MA, Virginia explored the question:
‘Can the Landscape of one’s youth become the Landscape of oneself?’
Through her enquiry, Virginia came to understand the importance of the Yorkshire landscape she grew up in both for herself, her family and her community.
Exploring her connections to this landscape, Virginia regarded her work as a form of emotional archaeology and she developed a real sense of belonging and self.
In addition, Virginia explored how the landscape of Yorkshire had evolved, continues to evolve and regenerate through natural and human industrial processes. Through this exploration she concluded that Land is always shifting and changing as it meets the needs of the economy.
